Dying Eyes

Take hushed breaths while i count mine
They might last till the morning, will they?
swirling round this peak,
plummeting down in the valley
where will its spiral stop?
I am slowing down and picking up pace
neither here, nor there yet
The breeze caresses the cheek
the touch feels cold
nothing warms up inside, devoid of my body heat
The next turn is certain, its death
I take it and then take my next
I will not know when it has come
Not knowing feels like eternity
All of your loved ones that gather around this bed
They might as well be not
Its all you within , everything else is without
You will always be alone at the time of death
Why don't we meet that lonely person early on?
