Have you ever?

Have you ever known the mind of a person,
And almost but not quite felt his agony

Have you ever known its him not you
And almost but not quite felt his being
Seep into your skin

Have you ever stopped in the middle,
And tried to stop his flow,
Trying but not quite to hold it in.

Have you swallowed through the rain,
Drenched but not quiet,
Still a little dry skinned

Have you ever cried out his name,
And heard the echo of your own voice in the hills

Have you ever whispered a sound,
And heard its falsehood as soon as it took to its wings

Have you ever given your all,
But not quite as it still holds a little bit more in.

  1. There is always a little bit of you even when you are trying to immerse your all in the other person.
